Blog, Life Lived Be*YOU*tifully

Is a 3-Day Work Week for You?

I’ve always been a believer that there was more to life than working 9 – 5 for 5 days a week. When I was working full time I felt like there were so many times that I was unproductive and should’ve just gone home, or I finished my work, but had to make up work in order to stick around until 5. I also don’t like a normal schedule. Sometimes I’m really productive at night, sometimes I love waking up early and getting straight to work. Everyone is different and I believe you should be able to create a schedule that works for you and helps you live your best life.

I don’t remember how, but I stumbled upon Cailen Ascher and her 3-Day Workweek. From the title of her work, I was immediately a fan and wanted to know more. She has a free 3-Day Workweek program that you can find here. Ironically the introductory challenge is 5 days, but for good reason. The course was different than I expected, but it really changed my mindset and how I approach creating my schedule.

Here’s what the course looks like:

DAY 1 – Set Your Intentions

DAY 2 – Upgrade your Health

DAY 3 – Upgrade your Wealth

DAY 4 – Upgrade your Relationships

DAY 5 – Integrate + Expand

I thought the course would be more about how to set your schedule to be more productive and work faster and more efficiently. But the course was more about creating a schedule that you enjoy. I love the idea of the health, wealth and relationship upgrades. When you know what you want out of your life, you’ll be more intentional about adopting daily practices to get there.

This challenge helped to change my mindset about setting my schedule. Yes, I need to make a list of tasks to get done for the day, but it’s also important to schedule in the things that will upgrade your life and bring you more joy. It’s not always just about working so hard, it’s about working smarter and finding time to enjoy your life.

I love her motto: “Work Less. Make More. Live Better.” Who doesn’t want that?!

Here’s to a successful year working less and making more!

Have you joined her challenge? What did you think? Can you get behind her 3-Day Week? Leave a note in the comments.

Be you. Be*YOU*tiful.
